Microsoft Azure is a rapidly growing, global, trusted public cloud that is central to Microsofts overall success. The Azure Product Marketing organization is responsible for Azures global go-to-market approach including defining the customer value prop working in partnership with the Azure engineering team, determining the global marketing mix and investments to maximize product growth, developing memorable storytelling and impactful customer-engagement moments, and defining the channel & sales priorities aligned with our product strategy.

The Director for Azure Hybrid and Edge leads our product marketing for Azure Hybrid and Edge services portfolio across Azure Arc and Azure Stack product lines. This is a unique team that includes both product marketing and audience marketing responsibilities. At the core of this role is inspiring and delighting every customer to modernize their existing edge infrastructure with Azure. This is one of the fastest growth areas within the Azure business, that provides a dynamic, flexible, and empowered work environment.

As the leader of this team you will work hand in hand with stakeholders across engineering, marketing, and sales to grow all product areas in your portfolio and ensure customers continually discover the benefits of Azure. This role provides an incredible opportunity to have a significant impact on business results and drive transformational change at Microsoft as a member of the Azure Infrastructure leadership team. This leadership role combines customer empathy, business acumen and marketing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leading an amazing group of talented and diverse employees that make up the Azure Hybrid and Edge Product Marketing team.

  • Partner closely with the product engineering team to shape product investments and ensure our technology aligns with customer needs and provides differentiated value.

  • Defining the value prop, positioning, messaging and naming for all products within this portfolio.

  • Work with digital and event marketing discipline subject matter experts to define and drive the digital and in-person marketing investments across the globe.

  • Work with the business model and finance subject matter experts to define the monetization and pricing for products in your portfolio.

  • Define global sales focus areas related to this portfolio and work hand-in-hand with the global sales leadership to help every salesperson and channel partner to crush their targets.

  • Contribute to the overall Azure Infrastructure business strategy and growth as member of a senior marketing leadership team.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business

  • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years direct people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in business

  • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in business

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years people management experience

  • Leadership and management capabilities with ability to foster a diverse and inclusive team

  • Growth mindset orientation and constantly seeking to learn and grow as a leader

  • Product marketing background in cloud technology with passion for technical audiences

  • Thrive in collaborative, cross-functional team environments with ability to gain followership

  • Experience with change management, making clear decisions, and leadership-level influence

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and storytelling skills
